Omo celebrates Golden Years, launches One-Wash Formulation

From 1962, OMO’s innovation has kept it relevant to generations

From the Lever Brother’s Factory at Aba in 1962, to its current home at the Unilever NSD factory at Agbara, OMO has survived fifty solid years as Nigeria’s most advanced washing detergent.

This laudable achievement was met with fanfare in April, as audiences were made nostalgic with targeted advertising and Unilever Nigeria launched the new improved OMO that delivers brilliant results in One Step.

To unveil the new formulation and celebrate OMO’s Golden Jubilee, Unilever Nigeria hosted consumers, customers and various stakeholders to a Grand Golden Jubilee Celebration, which was an exciting night of glamour. The celebration was made more memorable with musical performances across generations, by super-songstresses Onyeka Onwenu and Omawumi Megbele.

The new improved Omo formulation

In line with Unilever’s commitment to meeting the needs of our consumers and its spirit of continuous improvement, as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Company launched its New Improved OMO, which delivers brilliant results in One Step.

The new OMO contains Max Clean particles, which penetrate deeper to tackle even the most stubborn stains, to deliver the best results.

“Over the years, OMO has been the detergent of choice for generations of Nigerian families,” noted Managing Director, Thabo Mabe at the Golden Jubilee celebration where the new formulation was launched.

“We are proud of this special milestone in OMO’s history and will continue to enhance OMO’s cleaning capability through innovation, to ensure it consistently delivers the best results for now and the future,” he added.
