Supporting education through Unilever’s Chuo Club School’s program
46 students benefit from Ksh 3 Million worth of School fees in Unilever’s Chuo Club program
46 students from various secondary school in Kenya were recently awarded with three million Kenya Shillings worth of school fees and tablet devices for the Chuo Club back-to-school program.
The students, received amounts ranging from Ksh. 20,000 to Ksh. 100,000 to cater for their school fees and tablet devices for better learning experiences. The amounts were won in a Unilever shopping reward program dubbed ‘Chuo Club’ which seeks to make the back to school shopping experience exciting and fulfilling.
Students and their guardians were required to buy Unilever products from select stores within the country, register and stand a chance to win in the platform launched in January 2016 with a long term agenda of enhancing lives of the young minds.
Unilever Kenya Customer Development Director, David Walton said the schools fees will be a major boost to the students’ quest for learning and in line with the company’s commitment to support education and improve the lives of consumers.
“Education has the power to help transform people’s lives economically as well as academically, we hope that the school fees will help keep these children in school and boost their morale in learning and eventually increase their final score in examinations.” He added, “Chuo Club is Unilever’s commitment to Kenyan teens, towards making their back-to-school experience worthwhile and fun, with a strong message that there are no age boundaries when it comes to rewarding our customers.”
